Our Committee We are currently in the process of converting to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). This does not make any difference to the service we provide. We hope that this process will be completed in the coming weeks. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an Extraordinary General Meeting (‘EGM’) of Compton Playgroup trading as Compton Pre-School, Playgroup and Toddlers (‘The Charity’) will be held online at 8pm on Thursday the 8th February 2024 It is proposed that The Charity be dissolved and the entire undertaking of The Charity be transferred into the new charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) called Compton Playgroup registered charity 1204755, a copy of whose constitution is presented to the meeting. This CIO has been registered by the trustees following the resolution passed by the members on 10th May 2023 deciding that it is in the interests of The Charity to change its legal structure from an unincorporated association to a charitable incorporated organisation. The members shall consider and vote on the following resolution to this effect. The Pre-school is a charity and as such is managed by a volunteer management committee – whose members are elected by the parents of the children who attend our setting. The elections take place at our Annual General Meeting. The committee is responsible for:
  • managing our finances;
  • employing and managing our staff;
  • making sure that we have, and work to, policies that help us to provide a high quality service; and
  • making sure that we work in partnership with parents.
The Annual General Meeting, held in the Autumn term, is open to the parents of all of the children who attend the pre-school or toddler group. It is our shared forum for looking back over the previous year’s activities and shaping the coming year’s plan. If you are interested in joining the committee and you would like to know more then please contact us: info@comptonpreschool.co.uk
